Children's Ministries at Edgewood are called Greenhouse, where kids grow like crazy! Just like a greenhouse, we believe our children's programming provides the best environment for kids to grow in their faith. It consists of full-hour children's church classes for preschoolers through third graders, 4th and 5th graders dismiss themselves to their classroom as the pastor goes up to preach. Did you know that from the time your kids are born, until they graduate high school, you will only have 940 weeks? They grow up so fast! So I started thinking about how much time we have with them in Greenhouse. From K-5th grade, we will see your kids 40 weekends a year times 6 years (not including our summer fun.) That is only 240 weekends, or 240 HOURS! So as parents, we encourage you to be the Spiritual leader of your home!

Our K-5th grade curriculum we use 252 Basics, based on Luke 2:52. “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
We want every kid to know and understand;
3 Basic Truths-
· I need to make the wise choice- Wisdom
· I can trust God no matter what- Faith
· I should treat other the way I want to be treated- Friendship
Virtues-
· God loves us dearly and wants us to be imitators of Him. (Ephesians 5:1) So He is at work in us to make us more like Himself. As we become more like Him, He’ll use those qualities or virtues to change us and the world around us.
· 252 content is organized into a different biblical virtue each month, a quality of God’s nature that He instills in His followers.
Salvation-
· “For God loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “ John 3:16
· We present the message of salvation about every other month. It is presented in a simple explanation for kids to understand.
· We instill in our kids the fact that we can’t make it to Heaven on our own good works. That even if you practice the virtues we teach each month, you need to have a relationship with Jesus and have Him as their Lord and Savior.
