What is the Worship Arts Ministry?
The worship ministry exists to provide an environment that people are able to have a distraction free, uninterrupted, deep worship of God. Our worship is focused on the Father, empowered by the Spirit, and points others to Christ. We are always looking for faithful volunteers to join us!
Your First Visit
Edgewood Community Church is centered around the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has done for us at the cross of Calvary. We hope that your visit to our church will reflect that priority. For instance, if you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll meet a number of friendly people the moment you walk in the door. Edgewood is meant to be a place where people feel welcome and loved, just as Paul reminds us in Romans – “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” Romans 15:7 (ESV).
Hopefully, this gives you an idea of what we’re all about at Edgewood, but the only way to really know is to come and visit one of our Services. We hope you take the time to stop on by, and remember, you are loved!
What is Worship?
Focused on the Father... Worship is a life response to the worthiness of its object. Our "object" or rather our focus is on the Father and when we worship we do so in response to who we believe God is. Our lives, actions, and attitudes reflect what we believe about God the Father and are a direct outpouring of where we put our focus.
...Empowered by the Spirit... Our worship is not just a physical posture but ultimately a heart posture that must align with the worship that happens in heaven. Our spirit is the core of who we are and is at the center of our emotions and shapes our view of life. Our lives need to be fueled by the Holy Spirit that shapes and empowers our true worship of God.
...Points others to Christ. The reason we worship should be evident not only by the words we say, but by our lives. Our lives are to be a testimony of Christ's work in our lives and a living example of what it means to follow him. Just like a tour guide, you have to have been somewhere to show someone where to go.
Meet our Worship Arts Director
Caleb Gordon joined the Edgewood Community Church leadership staff in Winter of 2015 as the Worship Arts Director.
If you have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and have developed or are developing skills as an instrumentalist, vocalist, sound or computer tech, I would love to talk with you about joining our worship ministry team.
